welp here it is

my First Subwoofer Box

i build it according to min specs of kciker comp 150rms 12' subwoofers

anytips and tricks you guys have for me ill appreciate it

1.25 cub ft is what the manual said the box will be if i build according to there dimensions

i used

Liquid nails+5/8 particle board * dude from homedepot grabed the wrong wood i didnt even notice it until i got home*

corse thread drywall screws

Dremel to cut holes

Here is what i learned

#1. if u dont got the right tools dont do it(ie no drill bit at 12am.)

i proceeded to screw some in and cracked in a few edges

#2 DONT use particle board cracks soo easy

#3 if i use philips screwdriver by hand it wont crack as much cuz im doing it slow

#4 use soap on screws to prevent cracking of the board

Oh i was thinking carpet but i dont know how the F imma be able to carpet it with the bottom+edges at the same time - please help me on this

i might just piant it too

here are the pictures

please bare with my noobest at box building

Everyone starts somewhere, props to you for posting it either way, I barely mess with systems at current time... but maybe i'll be posting some soon.

like everyone else said, you gotta start somewhere. myself, I wouldn't have posted mine. 1/4in plywood and angel hair, enough said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Shit looks kinda good man! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What I would have done differently though is to use WOOD glue (looks like gorilla glue there, or some other polyurethane glue). It is THE strongest bonding material for wood you can get, and it's also the cheapest. Also, NEVER use particle board. MDF only, 3/4" as well. Unless you're building a box for a Legacy 8", .5" is almost always too thin. Besides that, just have attit.

Oh, and don't use soap on the screwheads, the key to flawless drilling is to pre-drill your holes. Use a drillbit with the same diameter as the shaft of your screws (the screw minus the flanges), and your chances of splitting the wood drop exponentially.

I think you did a good job, not so much on the final product but because you have learned, and gained the experience of building your own box. There are people that wouldn't even attempt this on their best day, let alone post it and risk the possible flaming and critique of other members. Cheers to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif
