My engine build

picture my ek coupe with my fully built b18c that put down 387whp smoking ur pos poniac bet ud be real upset just like half the other mommy/daddy sponcerd kids in ther mustangs lol:p:btw im all motor
good luck on ur build kid

and to all thoes ppl sayin hondas are garbo...i think there pritty well off sein as how my motor revs out at 9g from the factory
not to argue with you or anything, but the fastest cars on the strip don't rev. They hold a fairly constant RPM.

Showing that your b18 had 387hp and over 200ftlb for more than 4k of that rev would be better.

and I can't stand the parent funded cars that are claimed to be soooo fast. The "ricer fly by" applies for those kids as well...

did u come down to the honda meet in portland?
Nope, I didn't. It looked like a good turnout though! Did you by any chance?

thanks. Those are some good numbers. What all have you done to it?

wow you got an engine stand!!!! lol ,looks like its coming together, glad your doing it yourself, good luck and keep us posted.
lol. I sort of have one for now. It's my friend's dads stand but he doesn't use it much anymore. It is definitely coming together well though and will have updates!

Nice to see your build went well. My 402 block was cracked. Ended up installing a rebuilt 350 and it screams I might have pics.....let me look.

That was before I put everything on and installed it.

Dang, sorry about that man. If you have any pics, post them up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I thought I had a 350 in my El Camino but when the starter went out, I went to change it out and found that only the 305 starter fit lol. That explains why it was so much slower than I expected.

My rockers wore through my valve covers on my old engine. I got sick of it and tossed it out for this one. 4 bolt main, thin head gaskets, rebuilt heads, comp cams cam and lifters, high rise Edelbrock and a 750 Holley. Engine screams. I'm probably making around 300-325 horses at the crank. I should get it dynoed.

That block's clean! I've never taken apart a V8 but want to learn more about them sometime. The only thing I've done on them is replace a few things like carburetors and a starter.

Have you put it into your car yet?

Edit:nevermind, saw your post above

That's crazy. It doesn't seem that much different from a 4 cylinder besides the cam kind of in the middle. Probably a little similar to a Subaru I would think since the pistons are a little angled? That's great it all worked out for you though

They're pretty easy to build but I did not build that engine. I had it built, I just finished it off. I didn't have the time to do it myself. It's also bored .20 over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Its quite the torque monster and it gets my big heavy truck moving even with the stock rear end.

Good news. My new high compression pistons came today. I had to get new ones because the others got chipped from a shop pressing them off the rods. Got these with new rings and wrist pins

The wrapping paper lol

I'm on a search for a good machine shop so I can get my rods shotpeened. Also, figured since I have the block out, might as well replace all my seals so I am getting a kit with every seal.

what compression are those pistons and what are you going to be reving to? 11.1+ and 9-10k?

so you are saying you have an NA 1.8l engine that makes 387whp? lol. yeah ok. lets see a dyno graph of that. lol. and hondas are shitboxes for the most part. most not all.

B18C6

* VTEC

* Found in:

o 1998-2001 Honda Integra UK and Euro Spec Type R

* Type: 1.8 litre 16v DOHC 4 cylinder in-line

* Displacement: 1,797 cc (109.7 cu in)

* Compression: 11.1:1

* Air intake diameter: 62 mm (2.4 in)

* Bore: 81 mm (3.189 in)

* Stroke: 87.2 mm (3.433 in)

* Rod Length: 137.9 mm (5.429 in)

* Rod/Stroke Ratio: 1.58

* Power: 190 PS/139 kW/200 hp (SAE net hp) (139 kW) @ 7900 rpm & 131 ft·lbf/178 N·m @ 7300 rpm

* Red-line: 9000 rpm

* Transmission: S80 w/LSD

to get anywhere close to 400whp you would have to run race gas, crazy compression, and rev to well over 14k. 131 tq lolz. oh and you can't spell.

380+ hp on a n/a b18, dude your on some sort of heavy drug. no matter what you do n/a to that motor you're not getting over 275hp. let's just say that you were able to get that n/a 4 cylinder to 380hp n/a, that would easily cost you $30k on engine and ******. why would you waste your money doing all that for something that isn't even streetable? for $10k I could build you civic with 400+hp boosted. hell for 30k I could build you a fully streetable 1000hp+ boosted V8 focus.

and then i would have been beaten by a 2k econobox with 10k dumped into it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
