My engine build

Build looks good.

My final goal for my '97 Civic is to either fully build the D16 in it, and throw a shit load of boost at it, or get a B18C1 or C5 from a GSr Integra, build it, boost it, and finish it off with a USDM 6 speed cable *****. Probably stick with my D16 because a stock B18C1 can cost about $4k out the door with the ECU and everything.

Wow, so I really have delayed this lol. I am making good progress again.

Over the past month I have been gathering parts and now have everything. I'm making a video of the whole thing and filmed pulling the motor but just have the pics for now.

The past few days I have been disconnecting everything from the engine and finally pulled the engine out today.

It was a little aggravating because the ac pulley, power steering and crankpulley kept hitting the side of the engine bay because the weight of the ****** was pulling the other side down. At least I'm not putting the motor back in with A/C or power steering. I'm going to be gone for thanksgiving break so I won't be able to do much in the next week and a half //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Also, My friend and I took his d15 out of his EF Civic and I did make a video of that if anyone wants to see it. We are putting the same model motor that I just took out of my car and doing ls vtec later.

looking like progress coming along im in the process building my b18b all motor
yeah, now that I have all of the parts, progress should go very fast.

What are you ding to your LS? If you're going all motor and have the engine out I'd put higher compression pistons in. The LS pistons are really only good for boosting.

yea thats wat im doing i have je 12.1 compression piston going in and to get block bore out first and p&p head crower stage 2 cams hoping for some good numbers

nice man! You'll definitely put out some good numbers. I'm going to gather parts and build my head all at once sometime next year. All motors ftw

sounds good man i might do a ls vtec next summer some time good luck putting your motor in and wat ****** you using
thanks man. I'm just using my LS ****** for now. I someday want a GSR ****** from a DA( The B17 ******). They're cable transmissions and have a Limited Slip Differential //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

I got home almost a week ago from our thanksgiving trip so now I'm starting on the engine again. If I get the whole motor taken part tonight I'll put up some pics.

Here is a vid of pulling the engine. I was going to get more into detail with it but was working to fast to film everything.

Well, the head is now off. It came off really easy. The hard part was that the engine was spinning on my old el camino rims loosening the head bolts.

Now I gotta strip everything on the outside of the block and swap the oil & water pumps. Also gotta take the PR4 Pistons out and go get the ls rods shotpeenend.

Well, I have some more updates. It's been a while, again. Anyways, I have some pics if any of you are still interested. I've taken a lot of time on this build but miss driving the car a lot so am upping the pace the next 2 weeks, hoping to finish.

Here is how the engine is sitting right now

The Block from the integra. Preparing it for the new high compression pistons and some other minor mods to the bottom end

Pistons out.

Also, got myself a b16 transmission. This will make a major improvement on performance. These gears area A LOT shorter than the other transmissions. I may swap my 5th gear from the LS transmission into this b16 transmission for highway driving.

As most of you know, I was going to use those high compression pistons. Well, I have no tools to get the pistons off from the connecting rods. My dad knows some people with a shop and I told my dad I wasn't going to use the pistons the intgera had in it before. The shop told my dad there machine ruins pistons when taking them off but he said I wasn't going to re-use them anyways. The bad part is they had the other pistons as well.

I ordered new ones though and they are coming monday. Yeah it was a big loss, but brand new pistons with black skirt lubricant on them will be another good thing for reliability.

That is all I have so far, next week I am getting the rods shotpeened and then balancing the bottom end. Once that is done, I can put on my b16 and tap some oil lones making it ready to go in
