My Electrical System

since the batter is in the back already you could run 2 or 3 group 31's in the back and call it a day. with the other upgrades mentioned above that is.

ive got a pair of xs d3100s for my mmats 4000.1 and for .5 burps with a 200 amp alt i dont drop below 12.4

how much will a 220A alternator cost? and $800 on batteries is not really gonna work, that seems overboard too. Do i really need two group 31s? or could i just use one for my system, and the stock battery for everything else

3k is kinda pushing it on one battery.

i went with excessive amperage for my alt and the 200 amp alt and external regulator ran me 480, which for my little car was less than just the alt from most of the other companies i talked to.

Is there anyway i can get two batteries for cheaper than 400 each? i was wanting to spend at most 250 each, i emailed the guy at excessive amperage, so im waiting for a price quote, but i also looked at other sites, and no one has alternators for bmws, what gives?

Yes u can get 2 g31's for under $400 I paid $110 shipped for each one of my deka9a31's.. No one makes a HO alt for my Ion either and every company I have contacted has wanted 400+ for a 200+amp alt so Needless t say I do not have one nor did I feel I really need one. If I keep under 3k my 130amp alt and 2 dekas keep me in the mid 13's during heavy play and high 12's during burps.

What do u guys think of Kinetik batteries? on their website, they said i should use 2 khc 1800s, would those be good? and would i even need an ho alternator? mine is only 110A, but i think someone makes a 120A if that would even make a difference

2 1800's should do the trick as well as doing ur big 3. I mean no one can say with 100% certainty that you will be good only real way is to do it and see. Every car is different so unless someone has the exact same car u have with the exact equipment then its just an educated guess.

so what about the alternator, i have a feeling that 110A or whatever it is wont cut it, what do u think would be the recommended size for that and what would be the minimum? just because its gonna be hard to find

That seems like a massive voltage drop for that amount of power. I mean, I have a 70amp alt and a ****** battery and I'm running a bit more power than you, and only drop into high-mid 12's. But I also have the Big 3 done, but it sounds like you might almost have other issues. Get the big 3 done asap, in 1/0 OFC is your best bet, you'll be sure to be good for whatever you do in the future with that. Current set-up, with a Big 3 and you should be good. for the future, another battery and then see where you drop to and what not. You might be ok with just a pair of batteries and the big 3 with 2000+ watts, everyone's car is different. But just go step by step, with the cheapest to the most expensive solution. If you do end up needing a HO alt, get one that's at least 200 amps, to make it worth your money.
