Reciever: Harmon/Kardon AVR-300. $20 at a yard sale.

CD Changer/Player: Sony CDP-CX205 200 disc. $26 at a thrift shop.

Pre-Amps: 2 identical Regent HT-391 5.1 Home Theater systems converted to be used as pre-amps. traid for an older 5.1 system.

Subs: 2 10" Pioneer 400 watt IMPP $50 for the pair at Goodwill. Built the box to specs myself from scraps.

2 10" Dual 350 watt, $40 for the pair off Craigslist.

Center Channle: 2 custom built Center boxes, each consists of 2 3.25" mids with a 5.25" sub. All 4 3.25" seakers are a matching set and both 5.25" subs are a matching pair. Free

Rear: A pair of Craig 4-way Boxes that I rebuilt. Each box consists of a 4" sub, 2.5" tweeter, 1.5" tweeter and 1" tweeter. Free/came with the pre-amps

Front: A pair of 4-way Pioneer 6x9s. 200 watts. And a Pair of Dual 4-way 6x9s, 300 watts. I inherited the Pioneers and the Duals were $7 at a pawn shop.

Needless to say, there is better equiptment, but I'm proud of what I have built on such a tight budget. It is VERY LOUD. It sounds pretty good and balenced. I have it so loud on a daily basis that when in the shower, I cant here the water hit the floor. And when I get back in my room, you dont smell voice coil. not bad for a little bit of money and alot of tuning and wireing. Mind you, I have been building up this home systwem for many years, starting when I was about 8 or 9. I have this system wired perfectly. If you turn the balence knob to the left, only the left 2 subs, the left 2 6x9s and the left rear and center channle play. I have also taken great care to get the ohm mesurments correct for what the speakers are runing off of.

On a side note, I dont recomend doing this if you want your 27" CRT TV to last.

Why would I wana do that? I do try to be resposible with it, as far as whose home when I crank it up. I have a great set of around ear head phones that I use when the family is home.

Are you sugesting that because of the number of speakers, it dosent sound good? I go for SQ first, volume later.
Do your own thing man. If everyone keeps following the rules then we won't discover/invent anything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm going to suggest you delete this thread and never mention this ever again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
