My Custom built Home System

I posted some pics of my ho's in that thread of banged chicks....
I used to bang strippers regularly when I was in my 20s. I had money and ejoyed cocaine. I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but most strippers and bar whores LOVE some cocaine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's a miracle that I don't have rotten crotch of epic proportions...

Just bought another Regent HT-391 pre-amp at goodwill for $4. I'm not shure what I'm gona power with it, but I couldnt pass up that deal. I'll throw up an update when I figure it out

Please, do yourself a favor and take those speakers out of there. There are many, MANY reasons why home audio speakers are a million times better in home audio applications than car audio speakers. Just a couple starters...

The enclosures (cabinets, as they are called in the home audio world) are built to the manufacturer's desired specifications for the drivers. No Kraco box is going to come close to perfect for those drivers.

The dispersion pattern is vastly different. I only have the common sense, not the technical know-how to explain this.

Now just solely based on the enclosures, home audio speakers sound MUCH better and have MUCH better output in cars than the majority of car audio based speaker systems. Do not, however, account in subwoofers in that statement. Subsonic frequencies have much greater output in cars than in homes because most subs are tuned near the resonant frequency of a car. Houses have a much higher resonant frequency.

Now sure, your system is going to be a night-and-day difference in sound quality and output over some shitty htib. Don't expect it to compare either way to a properly set up system of home audio speakers. You can keep the subs, as they will perform near as well as home audio subs, given a proper enclosure with spiked feet.

Now I would have given you the benefit of a doubt if you wouldn't have made the epically poor decision of dissing vintage speakers. I would pay you to find a pair of brand new speakers that can even run in the slightest with my speakers. Post on Audiokarma.org and ask them what new speakers could come close to touching a pair of Infinity Reference Standard 2.5's in sound quality or output, in a music or movie setting. If you are cocky about it, things will turn out much worse there than they have turned out here.

If you are wondering why, here's a couple things for you to consider. The vast majority of vintage speakers were made in Japan, America, and Europe. The vast majority of modern speakers are Chinese made, probably a good 90% of them compared to the 10% of before. If the reason why this makes the newer speakers more poor than they used to be isn't obvious to you, then carry on with your current setup.

Next, most pre-80s speakers were not designed for home theater applications, given the lack of surround sound processors and relative movies. Regardless, speakers like my aforementioned speakers will do just as good a job in theater applications as new speakers, but murder them when it comes to music.

Now make us proud and sell ALL those speakers and pick yourself up a pair of JBL 4311B's/L100's, Technics SB-6000/7000/7070's, Pioneer HPM-100's, ESS AMT-1B's, Heritage-line Klipsch, the list goes on. You can thank me later.

I'd never cheat on my woman....and she knows it.
No way could I ever get another woman as good looking as her to agree to have *** with my fat ***. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I dont think this statement is still valid...

Wow, this is just awful. I'm a big HT nut and really into DIY speakers. Sorry, Tonka, but this is terrible. Check out a few sites if you're really interested in some quality DIY stuff: DIY Speakers and Subs - AVS Forum
