cost 600 dollars. Its a 99 lumina, and I am wondering how much rms wattage I can get out of it with my stock alternator. I dont want too spend any money on a new alternator, or anything I cant use in another vehicle once this beast dies on me. I ran my Sony xplod amp (Sony XM ZR1852 Amplifier) bridged too power 1 12" concept sub at roughly 400w rms, and my headlights were dimming. Now I am planning on just powering a nice pair of 6x 9's and a pair of 5.25 comps on seperate lowpower amps.

how much RMS can I safely get out of my car without draining the battery?

a rough estimate will suffice.

thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Most stock electrical systems support 1000-2000W real power (depending on a lot of factors).

Don't think you'll have a problem with that equipment. If you wanted to add an extra battery that's something you can easily move to your next car anyway.

i did 800 no problem on my 97 monte with stock electrical, but thats with a good stock alt

so I can safely push 800w rms then?

I am planning on just powering my 5.25 comps (~250w), then getting one 15 that will take around 400-500 watts.

genius?
