My complete box log. Ported=TIME CONSUMING!!

I will probably be painting the box next weekend. I am looking for an FI logo to stencil in the front, and then paint it in yellow of course.

Looks like its turning out quite well! You definetly can cut back on the screws, one every 3-4 inches should be enough, and I'd recommend countersinking them if you have the opportunity. Adds nothing structurally, but looks better if you want to finish it in something other than carpet.

The sub:

FI BL 12"

Pchamfer; Cooling; Daily; Universal

The box:

2.2CUF^ @ 32HZ

Again, thanx to Chris for the design. PM IonSQL if you need a box built or just the design. Thanx for looking. More on the box next weekend, as the paint will be put on it.

I just have a bad habit of using a crap load of screws, even when I do sealed boxes. I figured I was using too many screws on this box, but when I thought about the **** ports had to be screwed in top and bottom too, I was like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . I had been putting in a screw exactly every two inches. At least I will know for next time, to go about every 3-1/2. I used well over 150 6 1-3/4.

i agree with above...looks great but maybe invest in a countersink bit...they are great for not splitting wood as well as a cleaner look
but nice job dude
Will do, but amazingly, this is the first time I have had the MDF split like that. I have done about 12 sealed boxes, using 1" MDF, I didn't think it would make a difference in the 3/4" MDF.

I have a crap load of tools, but you are right AZBAZZ, I am not comfortable using most of them. i usually never have time to do projects like this, since I used to work two jobs. Now that I have just dedicated myself to Firefighting, I will definitely start familiarizing myself with my tools, as I see a lot more projects that I want to start doing.

And to all, thanx for the heads-up on the screws. Also, I know that my recipricating saw skills are marginal, but thanx to the Dremel, smoothing it out was a piece of cake. Took about 2-5 minutes on each board, to get it completely smooth.

you will fine it easy and quick to build once you know the tools. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hope so, as I don't want to spend 8 hours doing another box again. I think most of that time was occupied by pre-drilling holes + all those deg on screws.
