my car wont start help

i ave a 97 grand prix gt today i went out to the car and started it in ran for maybe 10 seconds and then died i started it again it ran for 5 seconds then died now it wont start at all. did somebody suger my tank it has gas and oil

Maybe your battery is shot - have you tested it yet?

Sugar in your gas tank? I dont think so...

fuel pump maybe.......or at least a relay to it.....do u hear it humming b4 u start your car? if not, could be gone or a relay shot that turns it on..just replaced one in my moms car..only opposite problem..the relay wouldn't shut the pump off.....battery was dead every morning...btw, this was in a mercury...

any other symtoms?

im not an expert on cars but it sounds like a dead battery...my batt was almost dead the other day and i tried to start it then it started to start then turned right off.....did it a couple times then wouldnt start at all...try getting a jump and see if that helps any...peace

it wouldn't be battery b/c as soon as the car comes on the alt takes over, so it could be the alt. 9 times outta 10 it's the fuel pump, or so my experience tells me...which isn't a lot.

Hey i know what it could be the alternator is shot thats the prob they usually last like 5 or 6 and die check that the battery is dead because of the alternator put a charger on it and then unhook the battery if it doesnt run its the alternator
