My 15" XXX Review....was interesting...

All you really have to do is look at ROE's videos then look at yours. And then ask yourself what went wrong...

videos of what...the XXX's....that wont tell me anything. or do they show how to test impedence rise.

if i am getting impedence rise...how do I stop it.

Here is the other thing....as I said...when im playing a cd that is meant to just F-ing pound...it gets as loud as my 4 12's did...ON SOME NOTES...ok...but besides that it doesnt hold up...

My buddy's 12" JL W-7 is right at the same level with a Alpine 1000 watt amp at like 1/4 gain....except on those few "ON SOME NOTERS"...but the SQ on the W-7 is much better....

This is what frusterates the hell out of me. I heard a kids car....SRT-4. He had a RF bd1000.1 and a 15" Eclipse I DONT KNOW WHAT!!! (thats the part that frusterates the hell outta me) in a 1 cu. ft. sealed piece of crap box that was made in about 15 minutes with glue and screws...thats it. This thing POUUUUNDED!! sounded louder than my 4 12" Type R's..Louder than my 2 12" L7's...but I dont know what it was.... It looked like it had the tripple stacked mag...but it had a thin surround...so that rules out the TI and the TI-PRO...and i believe the Alum dooesnt have a tripple stack.

new enclosure...everything else is beyond your controll (inductance and coil temperature rise). Also, the more current that flows through a conductor the lower the inductance which, in turn, means lower impeadance.

The easiest way to measure Impeadance rise is wit ha Clamp Meter

Here is a short Tutorial:

Matierals:

-Pen

-Paper

-Clamp Meter that measures Volts and Amps

-CD with 0dB Test Tones 20-80 in 1Hz Incraments, 20sec tracks or longer are prefered

1.) Put the CD in and turn the volume up abotu 1/2 way, set the car up like you normally owuld be listening to music, trunck closed and window down or w/e.

2.) Get one of the wires running from the amp to run by an area you can access with the vehicle set up in a normal listening set up

3.) Clamp the meter and read Amps and Volts at every frequincy 20-80 write it down, it helps to make a chart

4.) Do it on a calulator or in Excel, use R= E/A

heh, see what i mean, in the time it took me to type that the question was already asked and answeared.... **** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
