So I have x2 12 inch 1200 watt Sony Xplod's. The Box I have them in isn't all that great, It's causing my subs to **** in quite a bit. Is that why there popping? Their both brand new. I have x1 1000 watt amp running to each sub. I used 2 of the RCA Y cables to connect each amp. I have everything hooked up right Im sure of it. It either the box or maybe the gain settings on the amps. If I have just one amp running to one of the subs then it sounds great so I don't know what the issue is that's why I came here. Im gonna keep adjusting the gain level and see what I can do. Any suggestions or idea's would be awsome I will be thankful.

Not to sure what you mean by a "wall socket". And what exactly is the dustcap. Sorry guys fairly new to this stuff. Im looking up my box now to give you an Idea of what it is.

Alright, I will attempt this one, when you have the gain down on the amp is it still making that noise, because you could be over excurting them and thats causing it to make a poping sound. When the volume is down does it still make that sound?

Nope when I have the volume down it sounds great. Im just a little confused on the gain adjusting part, Like if I put to much gain on the other amp then only one sub will hit. but if I adjust them just right they both hit but it just has that pop/thump noise. And a buddie of mine said that the subs should be getting sucked in to the box as much as they are, which I think that means their bottoming out. correct?

They are probably bottoming out.

Those subs can no way take 1200wrms a piece and if you have a 1000w amp on each of them thats way too much power. So try turning down the gains equally on both of the amps and turn it up to where you want it and then start putting the gains up more and more until you hear that popping sound.

Those subs can handle ~75-100W in that size sealed box... you are overpowering your subs and causing them to bottom out. Solution: buy some subs with more than 6mm Xmax... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
