My 12 inch XXX is as loud as 2 JL W0's, is something wrong?

I thought my XXX was loud as hell, but today i heard my friend's car w/ 2 12 inch JL W1's, running off of a single 250 watt amp, and it was extremely loud, like about equally as loud as mine. Ive heard many subs in my life, W7's, 2 JL W3's, 2 Infinity Perfects, and my 1 XXX beats the shit out of all of them, yet the 2 W1's running off of 125 watts each was nearly as loud as mine running off of a Nine.1. Is that normal? Many people (including audio enthusiasts) have heard my sub, and all have said its just ridiocously loud.

His is a small sealed box, mine is a small sealed box. His car is a Mistubishi Eclipse, mind is a Pontiac ***** am. My sub sounded better sound quality wise, but his hit probabyl as hard as mine, which is strange since his is 2 economy woofers running off of a very small amp. Im not complaining at all about my XXX, i think it rules and i love how it sounds, i just was very suprised to see that his 2 W0's were as loud as my 1 XXX. Im still blown away by how incredibly loud those subs were, maybe its just becuase his car is so small?

Still though, how come the W0's are so freakin loud? My friend has 2 W3's running off a 600 watt amp in an older eclipse, and this kid's setup was easily much louder than his.

thats strange because W3's have excellent response. i think the best of the JL subs as far as stats go

my system sounds superb right now, i wouldn't change a thing. If my sub was any louder, every panel in my car would start to ratlle. Hell, my CDT's even rattle the door panels.

Im just waiting for Spkrman to come in and say how effecient the woofers are and if you buy one of his TCAB boxes that youll hi 160.4 dB on the Termlab with only 50 watts!

Anyway, i have never heard these subs, but I find it hard to believe they could get as loud as an xxx.

thats the difference between SQ and SPL....I would be they werent "louder", i bet they just sounded louder. If you got a mic, i bet yours (assuming its ported...and it **** well better be) would put up better numbers.
