stumped .....need advice

hey guys, i have been reading alot and im stumped between two subs, the kicker 10" l7 or the re se 10"

my older brother had the old round solobarics and i loved how they sounded. his friend had a jl sub at the time and i liked it too. but now my bros friend says hes heard the l7 in a pickup and he doesnt like it at all. we all listen to the same music, so im thinking does the re se10 compare to the old solobarics and jls? i kinda wanted to keep brands the same with the kicker amps i wanna buy but if its a big difrence i dont mind. also if it makes a diffrence the sub will be "truely downfired".

forgot to mention they were all sealed and thats what i have space for. so no ported.

Depends on the version of the JL, and the new Solobarics are more towards SPL and less towards SQ. I say get the RE SE its something different than the retail subs and you should be happy with it.

ehh, this is kinda apples to oranges. the SE is kinda like the w6v2 while the l7 doesn't really compare to anything from either company...

no but do u get what i mean? jl's high performance, but "value" priced sub = w6v2 whereas the w1v2 would be like the RE.

If you can't port the L7's dont get them. They don't really like sealed enclosures at all. I'd say go with the SE. They are more like a w3v2 IMO

thanks for replying but yea i dont wanna get a w3v2. i want atleast 600 rms to match the amp i want , kicker 600.1. w6v2 is more like it but for that it would look alot better to match the sub with the same amps and thats just way too expensive for me. so se10 it is. thanks guys, now to order and build.
