I have a 07 coupe Mustang, and need a box for my 2 kicker cvr 10's. I like the design of el rafa's box. Would it sound better to have the subs facing my trunk opening or towards the front of the cab, as close to the rear seats as possible. thanks

In my experiences with my 'stang I would say the best output was firing towards the rear.

You should try porting up through the rear deck, that would be cool. A couple of 4" or 6" aeros should do the trick.

I have a '98 Mustang, but from my knowledge, it has the same trunk.

This is my enclosure:

If you can tell, the front is angled to fit properly into the back of my car so when you fold the seats down you see the subs.

I'm not sure if it's the most effecient. But, that's how my current set-up is.

What my prospect build is like this:

The sub box would be held up to the top of the trunk's hangover. The bottom would be an amp rack.

Zierbox, how big is the magnet on that sub? Man that thing is huge.

I just re looked at my trunk to see were I wanted my sub box to go. I don't think it will work because their are a bunch of wires coming up from the back of the trunk by the rear seats. So the width could only be like 28". Also I just noticed that the hump has a high point in the middle of the trunk, so the box can't be taller than like 10".

I would do towards trunk. If you face the cab, I believe you have to seal off your trunk. I'll send you some pics when I get home tonight.

That design BJ did is pretty awesome too.

Here are some pics of my setup in my 06 GT.

This is the back of sub box behind back seat. Those amp racks are no longer there. This box fit's snug.

These next pics are when I redid the amp rack. I went ahead and flush mount them on the face plate itself.

No I don't. I didn't put carpet on front of sub box cuz the faceplate was going to cover it. I can still take out my spare. Only thing I added to box was a piece of MDF to side of box to bolt face plate too. When I redid faceplate I used metal straps instead.

I have a 2004 Mustang mach1. I currently have two 12" AA Atlas Subs & Ported Enclosure. My problem is the ported enclosure was so big (smallest double I could find) that I had to take the backseats out inorder to get the box in there. Thats not the problem though...

My problem is I cant access the spare tire if I need to, so theres no point in putting the back seats back in if I cant access the spare tire. The ported box sounds ALOT better than any sealed box I had in there previously.

What are my options here? I would love to be able to take the sub box(s) out normally through the trunk.

1) Keep spare tire out, get AAA

2)Get two seperate sealed boxes that equal around same dimensions

3)Downgrade to 8" or 10" subs, and get new box that should fit

4)Pay $200+ to have a shop build a custom box and be done with it all!
