Multiple subwoofers

Hi. Im looking at doing a system in a toyota pickup extra cab. I have a power hx2 15" but am thinking of going 4 10" instead. My questions are

1. When running multiple drivers sharing the same enclosure does the enclosure need to quadruple in size or not necessarily?

2. Ive got around 2-3 cubic ft for a box, what 10"s out there will work well in that box with 4 drivers and ported?

Im after some huge bass that still sounds good, got around 1000w rms in clean a/b power

you are sadly mistaken if you think you can fit anymore than a single 12 in that airspace. four 10s would require 5-6 cubic feet AFter displacement aka after subtracting how much space the wood, port and sub takes up.

If you are planning on going sealed boxes, thats a no no. Sealed boxes are horrible in trucks if you are going for anything moderately loud.

I had 4 10's before the 2 15's replacement. The enclosure was 5 cu ft internal, ported...but the outside will always look bigger. The internal volume is what counts.

So you reckon stay with the 1 power hx2 15 in a ported box? Rockford recommends 2.5 cubic ft which will fit

So, after doing a lil research, turns out that both sealed and ported offer a pretty big enclosure, as well as smallish...

You want more bass, give it a little more airspace....bet that would do the trick.

A 15 should be in like 4cubes after displacement. Sure a smaller box with make some noise but you will be suffocating the subwoofer and the output will not be there.. if u have 2.5 cubes a single 12” is what you want

Or a couple of 8s... and yes a couple of modern 8s ported in a good box can exceed the 15 in output

Make sure your port is not tiny as fk. You'll need like a 6 inch aero at the least for a 15.

You could squeeze a pair of 10s in 3.0..As stated,,prob. Aero port..maybe (2) 2.5s or two 3", or one good 12would work
