MTX Subwoofer Smoking, what could be the cause?

I have a kenwood kdc-bt755hd, ill look online and try to find my preout voltage, i believe ive looked before and couldn't find an exactly number.

Google up how to set gains with a digital multimeter. There is no correct number anyone can tell you, every install and set up is different. Invest in a digital multi meter, you'll need it if you want your sub to have a fighting chance of survival.

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs,and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...

The 240 should be 2x40/ 2ch. rated at 11.9v. Should generate close to 50+ @14v rms. Only Rated @4 ohms bridged Mono.. Should be around 125 rms...

Google and Ebay are your friends. Froma quick search and providing these are like new, $2- $400 for the subs and $2- $400 for the amplifiers...
