MTX 9500 Box Build!!!

OK time to start the build

the box being built(designed by epicenterdesigns) is going to have an internal net of 6.9 cubes

after displacement of the sub/port it will be around 3cubes per sub.

The box is going to be tuned to 45hz with a port plug that will tune it to 30hz and an additional plug for if id like to go to 35hz with the box.

There were going to be mods to the box, consisting of 45 degree angles at every corner, but since ive heard good things and bad things ive decided not to. I rather see no gain from not having them, then seeing a loss from having them!

I will be resining the inside of the box 2/3 coats. wich will come to about 1/16th or 1/8th inch of resin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif (will bring that 3cubes down alittle)

i only trust 3 people cutting my wood. My father, Me, and my friend.. wich happens to work at lowes. worked out perfect to get the MDF then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

now its time to go threw it and see what will be used and what will be scrap.

now all the wood is seperated. i made it nice and neat, and wrote what they are on them so i dont get lost, lol

ok here is a pic of the layout.

The box is going to be CRX style (subs up, ports back)

The box is going in the back of a 95' Chevy 4 door blaze. The box is being built to be a Custom daily driver. wich can become an SPL BEAST

recently purchased 4 seats from a 2002 blaze. wich are in right now.

The trucks interior color is Tan, i hate tan... Turning everything to charcoal/black in the next week. with alittle tweed and glue

the pic is the back half mated with some ED V1se.

the box will be practically flush to the rear. It will flow all well and hide the (2) 8004's on each corner of the box for the mids/highs. the 2500D (wich hope to purchase 2 1200's eventually) will be a floating amp infront of the CRX box.

Well the two ports are merging right? Would it need to be twice as big in the middle to accomidate?

ok so i got alittle done tonight

started at around 6:30. bullshited with some friends and ate some food. was all cleaned up by 8:30

thanks to moe. he helped me with placement so i can still do 45's and not lose my db's

ok. got some supplies at lowes/walmart

time to start some sanding and resining.

did alittle sanding n then got 1 coat of resin on.

still gotta wait for it to dry

it looks like rock when it goes on. never tried it before so theres a first time for everything. i think it will look nice, kinda will match the sub color

and this is what the 45's should look like by the end of tonight.

What exactly does it accomplish resining the inside of the box? (not tryin to be a dick, i just dont know)

just makes the box stronger.

absorbes into the MDF for no leaks.

brings up the tuning alittle aswell.

you arent going to gain any real strength with resin... however it does seal well.
