MTX 8500 better than a L7.

Going by the people who have won, in last years db drag street a, the winner was using l7s i believe.
Ryan Ferguson was using them too last year when he won in usac.
You can't compete with a high qes, high inductance (what the L7 and SoloX are based upon) -- in an undersized ported box tuned to like 45-60hz depending on the vehicle... end of story... The t/s parameters tell you this -- and they don't lie that much... they do a little but its still a pretty good indication that you will see a HUGE peak in the response... – The SoloX is a versatile sub… Should sound awesome in an IB install – or bump to hell in an undersized ported box tuned way too high for my tastes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- IT IS A SOLID DESIGN //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- BTW Xmax is next to useless in competition... you are likely burping 50-60hz... tuned to a frequency around here where the excursion gets reduced GREATLY... so -- the MTX saying oh they have more volume being swept is only an indication of how loud how low it can play in a sealed box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- and even that is just an inkling since there are other factors... -- Just had to say this -- not that I would ever use ethr of these subs because I'm a SQ man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- The SoloX in a wall wouldn't be too shabby though...

Well they do pretty **** well in small ported boxes tuned high...I belive bumpinyota is doin mid to high 50s with 4 12L7s and 4 9.0s in realy small boxes, something like 2 cubes each.

Indeed thats exactly what I'm sayin -- L7 > MTX for SPL -- I will say they don't sound the best though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I never said they werent a good woofer...
I meant to say that look at the people that do db drag. There is a large amount of them that used the l7 in the street classes. There are a very few who run the mtx subs.
yes but that does not mean they arent just as good

since like ive said ive only seen 1 other RE setup besides my last 1. and everyone likes them.

get what im saying?

just cause theres not alot that compete doesnt mean that they cant do well.

im at 147.7 with (4) 7500's n (1) Orion 2500 D at 2ohms.

o and thats in a daily driver box...

redoing the box right now for the october 2nd show. hope to score close to a 148 with it. then next step is getting the amp to stay stable at .5, n then ill be at or aroun my goal of a 150;)

In my past experience, The L7 wasnt any louder than my 8500. The 8500 had a hell of alot better SQ though.

Wow, so you see..

Why am I giving MTX a bad name, because I read a article in a magazine...

STFU. If you read a few posts back I said that it was a add. I may of been from MTX, I'll have to check 12volt again.

I've heard the 7500's and they get pretty **** loud. I've heard L7's and they get **** loud.

The 8500's are sleeping imo, and someone hasn't discovered them.

Your such a tool bag...Your the type that gives MTX a bad name.
