Reading the 12volt again check this out.

-Kickers voice coil is 2" while the 8500's is 3". 1" Increase.

Here are a couple Specs. (1st published), (2nd measured)

SD x Xmax = Vd

Kicker 100.0 in2 .51in 51.2in3

MTX 86.6 in2 .85in 73.6in3

Based on the public specs the MTX is 44% higher than the kickers. Which is 3.16db increase in output.

Kicker 100.0 in2 .4in 40.0in3

MTX 86.6 in2 .85in 73.6in3

Based on the measured specs the MTX exceeds by 82%!

Danm...

Per Measured specs for THD+N @40hz, 500rms.

Kicker is 22.5%

MTX is 4.5%

Wow, 22.5% non-musical noise comin from those speakers. Fart away.

With the kicker, you do get 7% more cone area, BUT you give up 44% volume displacement and 3db of output.

These were in their reccomended boxed also. Owned.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

add:

the 9500 series is the top end of the MTX spectrum, here is a test Ed did, and how well even the 9500 stacked up against others. Same car, same power, samme judges, box reccomended by each manufacture

here is sealed, vented test on all...

and the awards of the top woofers

PLEASE NOTE

This is not a plug, or a smash on any driver, just actual test, done in actual car....or better known, as 'real world'... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Actually I thought it was the rfl. I thought that was mtx's flagship, or should I say loudest sub is the rfl, well besides the jackhammer.

RFL is really a one note wonder, many use in dbDrag, or should I say, 'used' too....

the Jackhammer is really a driver that shouldn't be called a flagship driver.......more of a one piece monument.

But you should know that those tests were flawed and should not be taken too likely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
