MTX 5500 series?

I know this kid that got rid of his 2 kicker comp cvr 12" s for 2 mtx 5500 12" subs. He said that they were soooooooo much louder and he stressed the fact that the kickers weren't that great. I haven't heard them yet, but for some reason, I think the kickers would have been better.

Also he just recently blew his kicker 800.2 amp which he powered both sets of subs with. His friend has a kicker 800.4 amp that wont come out of protect for nothing. They both say how kicker cant make amps..........this was after he bought a kenwood amp from best buy for $180.

These guys are idiots and obviously dont know car audio. I bet they did the installs themselves...........LOL. In order to blow an amp, you would have to do something incredibly stupid with it. Also, CompVRs are great subs....Im hittin mine with only 140watts and it pounds.

Yea, they both are idiots. The one with the 800.4 with the protection problem is running 2 15" sony explodes and a 2400 watt vohlfenhag amp. The other kid is running the 2 12" mtx 5500 series with a kenwood amp(not the excelon).

Im just curious if anyone knows which subs....out of the compVR's and mtx's......Which one is the better of the two.......as in SPL. I would think the comps would be.
