And a gang of batteries and 2 high output alts to back it up. His setup is inspiring. One of the craziest daily's.Yea, it's a daily tuned box. He's hitting high 50's, maybe even a 160 on music.
That is insane. He also has over 20,000w and 4 18's though.
Meades setup is the ish, but back to the above question^^^^^. Does anyone have an opinion(im sure everyone does) or know(maybe not so many).Wasnt that setup more of a loud daily tuned/bassrace setup over and not a all out SPL/burp tuned setup? I can see how a driver with the options the BTL has could be louder daily but wouldnt a fully loaded BTL not be suited for higher tuned, higher wattage (10000-20000rms) 3-4 second burps. What optioned BTL would compare to the MT quad stiff in these applications?

...the amps were before the sub switch, he did a direct drop in of the BTL's replaceing the MT's, i believe he noted a 1.1DB increase
I am asking about MTs and BTLs tuned for and ran in spl setups. I understand that a Fully optioned BTL tuned for daily could be louder than a MT tuned for daily. I would like to know what BTL options one would choose for higher tuning and higher power(10000 - 20000 per sub) to replace a MT quad stiff, or if the BTL could even compare straight SPL wise.
that should answer your question as to whether they can take high power applications. The only thing that lead to the BTL failing was due to playing at 30Hz when the box was tuned to ~45 and litterally SLAMMING the cone into the spider landing on the basket.
It made a ring all the way around the cone and snapped the tinsel leads in half where it was beating the heck out of them!
No thermal failure or any thermal issues at all
an honest one..Nothing agaisnt scott, hes a great guy, but i think his answer would be kinda biased. What company owner would say that this sub is louder than mine, so buy/use that one?
Just going by what it says on his homepage on his page for the 'hoe. It does appear to be a bit outdated though.... still says he has MT's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifhe has 3 alts...
