Couple of questions on improving my setup

I have a pair of rl-i8s in sealed enclosures, ~.6 cu ft each, powered by a PG x600.1 that gives them about 380w a piece. All in all, I can't say that I'm dissapointed by the setup because it does sound good, however being just a pair of sealed 8s, they don't exactly hit the lows really hard. I've thought about porting them, but I don't think that is a viable option due to the install.

Only things I can think to improve them would be to add some polyfill to simulate a bigger box, hopefully allowing them to play a little lower, and getting another amp that will give them about 500w a piece.

My question is how much of a difference will this make? Will the difference between 380w and 500w be very noticable? Will the polyfill make any difference?

here are some pics of the box:

yes, I'm aware I need to clean it up a bit....all in time

I'm not going with a BP box; and I would port them if I could keep the clean look, but I'm not going to build an average (rectangular) ported box and just set it in the hatch.

The current box is part of a rear seat delete that I've done on the car and if I got it cleaned up it would look stock(ish), in that it fits perfectly in the spot that the rear seat used to be, is angled like the front seat backs, and is flush with the "floor" of the rear hatch area that it backs up to.

I had the same issue with an 8" sub in my truck. I am very limited on space. Originally did sealed and it was ok - took the same enclosure and calculated the required port. The port was quite long and extended out of the enclosure but it was under the seat so looks did not matter. It did make a big difference - I would definitely port it. Looking at your install it may be tricky to get a port close to what you need but you can get pretty creative with PVC pipe... Do the calculations on port size with different diameter ports and see if you can figure out how to fit it.

Throwing more power to subs in a sealed enclosure won't do you any good if they can already reach full excursion. The polyfil might help some but you're really not going to gain much from it. That's only a $2 mod so you can try it and not be out on the streets because of it.
