so long as the box is braced well and not flexing like a body builder, you should be ok.

You should have used 3/4 inch MDF, .75 inch will not hold two type r's

Holy **** man did you drop out of elementary school and skip Jr. high and High School? 3/4=.75 just as 1=100 and 1/2=.5 1/4=.25 so on and so forth get it?

As to OP: It is better to mount it other places... but, it's fine to mount it on the box. Just a note, cheaper amps, you should use some sort of lok-tite for the heatsink. The heatsink on my really cheap Boss amp has rattled off.

smaller amps you should be fine...on big amps box mounting can be hazardous....
