Mounting Depth?

Where can I go to find mounting depth on my vehicle. I am putting in Alpine R components and the car audio guys at the store say they have clearance issues at times because they are deeper than most normal 5x7s. Looking around best I could find was just diameter size of the mounting holes not actual depth it will allow. It's a 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII with the JBL system. Oddly enough most car fit guides list 1993 as a Mark VII but this is a Mark VIII so I sometimes have to put in 1994.. go figure. Anyways, any help there would be great. Thank you.

Is that the car with the dash that looks like a space ship? I get confused with all of the Mark "cars"...if so, they should fit...if not nothing a spacing ring cant fix.
