Mounting Depth Question

I did a search before posting this and found that everyone seemed to have a different opinion. Anyway, I have a Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" sub that requires a mounting depth of 6". My box will have 6.75". So the question is will 0.75" be enough space between the bottom of the magnet and the bottom of the box? What is the value of having more space than less?

That should be enough. I don't think the space behind the motor is that important, I may be wrong though, someone correct me if I am...

Space behind the motor = very important with vented pole pieces .....

the rot is 3" for a vented motor... yes?
