Mounting Depth help

I have a double layer of fat mat on my trunk lid and one layer around the trunk. and glue alone would seriously hold it up just fine? with 2500 RMS? sounds to me like it will break apart on the first hit.
glue is stronger then the screws //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

some people dont even use screws period

Ha yea that power might pop it. Bracing is going to be crucial. Are you thinking dowels? or t bracing? or? trying to think how you could secure everything with bolts, screws, etc while building in the trunk. How many cubes do you need for it? what kind of port, if any? trunk will allow wat depth/height/width? i'll try to map something out that you can build externally.

Are your backseats removeable? could take them out just to put box in.

p.s. good glue is stronger than you'd think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I dont know the order of how its supposed to be so I'll just spell it out. But these are my max. 35.5" wide, 16" height, 16.5" deep, BUT if you take some you can give some, so it will still fit if its 18.5" deep, 14" height.

and im looking for slot port tuned around 32 Hz. I just want it to kill some lows.

Yeah I was thinking about 45's and t-bracing. and I'm not even sure if my back seats can come out without it being a 6 hour job. I'll try to find that out, but the way its looking right now is that I'm either building it in the trunk or small enough I can slide it in.

if you face the sub fwd, you will want so put sub and port fwd, and seal the trunk off from the cabin. otherwise, pointing sub and port back is the best for trunk cars
Ok hold on. I think I may have my direction mixed up. when you say back you mean pointing away from the engine right? If so then yes I messed up when i said front, I mean back. pointing away from the engine. sorry.

and I do agree sub back/port back is the best.

the best is really sub and port fwd. And then seal off the trunk from the cabin...but usually its a lotta work and some cars you really cant do it this way.

im not sure about those cars back seats...

ok so like a year ago I cut a hole in the rear deck and put a speaker grille over it so I could get some air flow into the cabin. Am I going to have to cover this up? and how would sealing it completely off from the cabin work? wouldn't it sound less loud?

the dimensions you gave me only comes to ~4cubes after displacement. Seems a bit small for an 18 eh? I'm thinking building it inside the trunk with pre cut pieces and plenty of glue is the way to go. and aero ports.

I'd aim for 6 cubes net. but i'd get more opinions on that as i dont have any hands on experience with the Kove Armageddon U2.

35.5Wide 13High 30Deep would come to roughly 6cubes after displacement. Idk about fitting it in the trunk tho if built externally

Porting thru the rear deck would rock your socks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if you have a hole in rear deck you should go sub back and port up thru deck will sound great for daily drvr
Its a 6.5" circular hole directly in the middle of the rear deck, I do not know how I can pull that off though. would you have to flush mount an aero up there?

yeah I knew it would be 4 cubes after displacement, that was worrying me as well. and jesus 30 deep? im gonna need to re-think how I'm going to mount my amp and second batt.

a 6" diameter aero port in 6 cubes running that 18 might have some port noise. Though it would only need to be ~10" to get tuning down to 30Hz. If you went up to 8" wide port it'd go to a 20" length. and a 10"wide would be 32" long.
