yes------- they sure do though not as much as a supercharger or nitrous---------- you know why?------- cause they don't add as much power. To make HP you need to get as much air and fuel into the cylinders to make the highest average pressure on top of the piston-------the combustion engine has been around for some time now-------- it's known how HP is madeOriginally posted by denim an Intake does not raise heat, air mass sensor, ehxaust does not raise heat, headers dont not raise heat,
yes------ they lower the pumping losses. This by opening the restrictions you can get more air in an out of the motor. once you get more air in you have to add MORE fuel and more air and fuel = more average cylinder pressure and that = more HPThey are lowering the restrictions of the air flow,
I don't know were you get the idea that the motor's heat comes from pumping losses and the INCREASING air flow DECREASES motor temp:crazy: If you think that then you also saying supercharging a motor -------------cools it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifthey are going to lower the engine temperature because the engine does not have to work as hard to make as much horse power
like you said "the motor isn't working as hard to make HP"------------- sure
