Mono OR 2-Channel

I would say it depends on the amount of power you want. You can use either style regardless, but the benefits of class D really don't start to take hold unless the power is high - at least several hundred watts.

If you only need - for example - 500 watts and you get a mono class D then it will always be a sub amp. If you get a 125x2 class a/b (500 bridged) and you eventually decide to upgrade it then you can move it to components or whatever.
