MMMM Tc sexines

That coil can handle a clean 2500..
There is no 3" coil that will handle that continuously. I'm pretty positive no 4" coil can either.

As far as running it off a "3000W" amp I think if you're smart about it you'd be OK. I've run a pair of tc2000's off a Stetsom 7K....just gotta be careful and know when to back off, it you're a complete arsehole you could blow it up with

They use the same coil, surround And spiders. They are completely the same other than cone material man.
I used to think the same thing, man. You really have to get them in your hands before the differences become apparent. The surround is thinner on the TC3000 and the motor has copper in it. Actually a pretty musical driver. The LA has a thicker surround and stiffer spiders along with no shorting ring in the motor. Even the electrical damping factor for the motor is different which makes a big difference in the final Q. They look VERY similar but they are indeed very different beasts. The sound is unique for each driver. Either way $100 is a great deal.

So wouldn't that make the LA storm the superior driver? Other than the shorting ring it seems to have better parts. And I thought these were really musical subs? Mine sounds fantastic

Is this a joke? pretty sure a TSNS can handle 2500 watts from now until christ's return. not to mention the tc 5400 old school version. both of those were rated at 5000w rms. i've seen videos of a tsns coil taking a wall socket and being fine.

Everyone seems to forget this, but the audiopulse axis is pretty similar to the tc 3000, and they rated in their manual and website at 2500w rms.

And yes I know they are more of a musical sub then a spl beast, but if you throw 1500 at them you're going to want more. I'd say a fair rating on this sub would be 2000w with a good SSF set.

Been throwing 10 hz sine waves at my x2 and hcca for the last hour and I must say this sub looks ultra **** when it moves lol. I'll post vids later I have to clean up the smoke an Mtx 4500 left in my garage haha

I'll bite!

new 3hp radial neo..pulls 231 N^2/watt with the axis top assembly. Currently postponed due to recent price inflation of neo... the dam'n stuff tripped in the last few months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If stiffer means better, then my whole collection is sub-par, lol. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
It's less about superiority and more about application and market niche. TC supplied the specs that Lightning Audio wanted when they OEM'd the drivers. It's simply better suited for smaller enclosures and substantial abuse. No doubt the LA sounds great but the 3000 most definitely sounds better. It's got a wider bandwidth with a lower Q and lower distortion. The 2000 sounds better than both of those and the 4000 sounds better than that, lol. All depends on what you're after, I guess. Give me a soft suspension for a smooth quiet stroke.
