Sealed 1500 is about ideal ported like 3 tuned to 30 it will take 2500..

what u smokin bro? ported will take less power than sealed bc the air flow lets the suspension bottom out easier.

You sure? My rd alpha has a 3 inch round wire 4 layer coil and it takes 1500 all day. I'd say this 8 layer flatwound would take over 2k at least. This is only my second tc product so i could be wrong

Yes I am sure, What type of spiders were used on your alpha? You really do not need a lot of power for these drivers. Just because you have a 1500 watt amplifier on a subwoofer doesn't mean the driver is getting any where near that.

I threw a soundigital 8k at 4 ohms to a 3k and it was fine. Gains not all the way up though. The audio pulse axis is a very similar driver to it and it was rated at 2500 rms.

well same basket and motor as the storm except the storm had side mounting holes basket to motor.

That's 1500 clamped power. Do you think it would hold 2k ported? That's the power I have laying around

Build update. Test box #1 is 3.5 cu. @32 hz 64 inches of port area.

I have it on 1500 @ 1 ohm

Oh and what's a good way to get the oxidation off of the motor? It's got a lot around the top of the motor

Brasso. It can be found in your local grocery stores cleaning chemicals. Be careful not to us a brilo pad or anything. It will put find scratches in that hurt more than help.
