TC supplied the specs that Lightning Audio wanted when they OEM'd the drivers. It's simply better suited for smaller enclosures and substantial abuse. No doubt the LA sounds great but the 3000 most definitely sounds better. It's got a wider bandwidth with a lower Q and lower distortion. The 2000 sounds better than both of those and the 4000 sounds better than that, lol. All depends on what you're after, I guess.
