mixing batteries

ok so the size and location of my stock battery makes it hard to find a kinetik or optima ect ect... that will fit. tried fitting an optima in there when i first got the car but my cables were too short to reach the posts, so my question is would it be a bad idea to add a second battery (kinetik) in the back with my regulay battery? one being wet cell and one being dry???

Well i drive a 98 sable and i have stock battery upfront some no name shit and 2 spv70's in the rear and i havent had any problems at all with it. All the batteries maintain very good voltage even while hitting the low notes(13.4v or so and no big three yet).

Hope this might answer your question.

I know, I did that with a Kinetik 2000, but it was too big so I had to go with the Kinetik 1800 under the hood. Lucky for me I bought the battery from a friend who owned one of each, so I could try it out with each one. If you're putting in a battery and using the stock location I can't see why you'd have an issue with the wires being too short. Do you have top mount terminals or side mount?
