Mixing Batteries? bad? ok? no problem?

I am just about to order my high output alt, and have a quik question is it ok to mix yellow tops with kinetik batts? the reason i ask is because i have Kinetik HC600 for my starter batt ( civic) and i have an extra yellow top (biggest one they make) that is about 5 months old and i am currently not using it. so i was thinking of putting the yellow top in the back and running the batts in parallel Good idea or bad?

I'm running a YT up front and a YT and Stinger PC2150 in the trunk with no problem. The only thing I wouldn't do is run a dry cell and a gel or wet battery together. Never done it, but I heard it can cause problems..

I've done it before and have had no issues. I've also paralleled redtops with powermaster D3100s and came across no issue.

You could run into the problem of the some of the batteries with a lower voltage pulling current from the batteries setting higher.

I have a Optima YT upfront and a Deka Intimidator in the back, no issues... You should be fine.

If all the batteries aren't setting at the same voltage this will occur.But as long as the batteries are realitivly new and purchased around the same time you won't notice much effect.Especially if you put them on the charger every once and a while.But if you have one that is setting at say 12.1 and th rest are at 12.7.That one will pull current from the rest and this will go back and forth till there all dead.Just make sure to put a charger on them every once and a while and you should be fine.
