MIXED RESULTS: optima YELLOW top vs optima RED top

And as an IASCA World Finalist there is nothing worse than having a battery die on you in the lanes..ruined my streak of top 4 finishes like sbn and midwest nationals as of right now my kinetik has lasted 3 + years longer than any of my optimas and 2.5 years longer than my stinger and for some odd reason they wouldn't warranty my red top that was under 4 months old the shop looked at my 100 watt car and said hell no. Granted I learned a lot from that and more than likely had I known then what I know now it would have at least lasted 2 years LOL. I also would not do a red top if I were to go optima with car audio I would go yellow or blue.
"read the warranty": actually fried a red top by hooking up a capacitor incorrectly (back when i thought they were a good thing years ago) and was 2 states away, called optima, had replacement at local auto zone in less than 15 minutes no problems. optima for the win.

yes im sure i can find the kinectic cheaper than the list price of 420$, as i could the red top because i bought it from autozone for 196$ and not online. so half price optima for the win here.

weight question, no idea, just typed in battery finder and this is what it told me i needed. being that i have a sports car light weight is prefered and the optima is almost half of kinectic. optima for the win.

standard side post on optima. optima for the win.

36 month warranty, yes i was mistaken, it is only 36 months not 5 years, however when i fried my red top, they renewed my 3 year warranty. now THAT is awesome. Kinectics warranty????? duno but im going out on a limb of: optima for the win.

does kinetics have 1000 ca and 800 cca? you know, the reason batteries are mainly intended for?????? will it start every time i need it to in the -10 degree weather during the winters on a big block engine??? optima for the win.

does optima have the power for car audio, well i have a decent sized system, big 3 upgrade, ho alt, and have no head light dimming with the red top, and was just asking on this forum about yellow top vs red tops. however is it as good for car audio as kinetic?? no. does it outperform or have better features and ect than kinetic?? absolutely. could i get a second battery to power my system if i was that desperate with my red top for the SAME price or CHEAPER than the kinetic? most likely. optima for the win.

conclusion. optima for the win.

Red tops are ok but I hear that yellow tops have gone down in quality since a few years ago. I have both and the yellow was for the trunk but I took that out and replaced it with an XS Power d975. Never looked back on it.

son you have a lot of learning to do after 3 yellowtop optimas dieing on me in a year and optima refusing to replace them anymore they fail.

3 batteries die in 1 yr and you just keep trying to replace them instead of finding out why? how many times must any company replace somebody's f' ups of other issues
call it what you want bottom line is stuck a deka in its place never had another problem optimas are not good batts for the money the problem is they are not good for car audio use at all.

i like the pink tops personally pfffft....

Powermasters Shuriken Kinetikc C&d Gerber power stinger and more Optima is for tehh nooobx....really tho there better for the money

you live in kansas, bro.

apparently you have a lot of learning to do if you are destroying batteries like that i dont blame optima for not warrantying them anymore AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY FREELY REPLACED 2 FOR YOU. at this point its not the battery but the user. did you ever consider that, son? afterall, millions have success with optima yellow tops and you are going through 3 of them, even if you DID have a defective battery, hell we'll go out on a limb and say 2 defective batteries, it becomes obvious at number 3 its the user, not the battery, son. you are the one who needs to take a look at yourself, son.

true, i guess the low was -14 last year here. maybe you should weather.com history it up before you start making stupid comments. obviously you have no idea about kansas weather and the fact its the chill that matters, not the actual temp. -14, or +7, what does it matter, CCA are considered anything under 32 degrees, BRO

EDIT: also average winter temp in 2009 was +14.2 degrees. low in the past 20 years in kansas -22 via weather.com and wikipedia. sigh, people who talk shyt and have NO Idea

CCA?....................... has NOTHING to do with an audio battery. Have you ever dealt with a REAL audio battery? Amp hour and charge/discharge rate.................not CCA.

Optima is a decent automotive battery....................................they can be beat all day as an audio battery.

are you kidding me? what happens first with your battery? does it start your car in the cold? or does it play your audio system? i clearly stated i wanted a 1 battery setup = i need it to start my car as well as run my audio. jesus you people are stupid on here.

haha weather man has a smart mouth on em'

its pointless arguing with this guy he is another 1 that thinks he is right about everything and when peoplen tell him different they are all wrong and he is right
pointless to argue with me because i put up SOLID facts and no one has counter proven them wrong. optima better in every field but car audio, which is what a battery is used for secondly anyways after starting your car. if im wrong, im wrong, but in this case, no one has proven any solid info countering what i have posted
