MIXED RESULTS: optima YELLOW top vs optima RED top

just curius here, if you're so smart, why did you ever get an optima battery to begin with?engineer doesn't mean you know **** about what your job is.
They were hyped up and had good specs, gave them a chance, they failed. And FYI Field Engineer means you design new systems at the site and troubleshoot existing designs to make them function as needed. To do that you need to know something about the products and materials being used.

actually seems like you of all people would know the answer then to red vs yellow. of those 2 and only those god damned 2, which one is better for car audio and why? even if both are shytty, surely, one is less shytty in your opinion since you're a battery expert.
The Yellow top, but i'm not recommending it. Optima says it does better on sustained current draw.

and i'm not a battery expert, just dealt with enough to say Optima is not "optimal" as a sole battery for a higher watt audio system.

pointless to argue with me because i put up SOLID facts and no one has counter proven them wrong. optima better in every field but car audio, which is what a battery is used for secondly anyways after starting your car. if im wrong, im wrong, but in this case, no one has proven any solid info countering what i have posted
What is capacity?

My kinetik has never failed to start my truck and this includes 2 winters in the last 6 years that the whole month was between 10 degrees and -20 and one of those months I had bad plugs that needed changed, so my truck went a week with it trying to start, an un startable vehicle and the kinetik always cranked it over and once I switched the plugs bingo it started. No charge and no jump start needed. A little kr912 starts 600-800 horse power circle track cars and has been in Camp World race trucks and has been tested in other nascar vehicles. Very hard to break into that genre as well because so many battery companies pay a lot of money to race teams.

well all the local shops around here say NOT to go with kinectics. if you are going for a single battery setup go with optima red/yellow. if you are going for dual battery setup, red/yellow up front with stinger battery in rear or equivalent. but since im going for single battery setup.....
unless of course daily driver is out of the question and you are really going for all out audio. then yes, id have a kinetic, hell i might have 2 of them.
Are red tops warrantied for use with car audio? If not why do you think?

Yellow tops aren't bad you just have to upkeep them like any other battery but I can tell you from personal experience dont let them rest at a low voltage very long and you can not run down a red top as it is not a deep cycle.

This thread is terrible, and didn't even answer the OP's question. God ****.

Yellow or blue (same thing) for car audio. red for starting only.

Go by the manufacturer's recommendation.

So I came on this thread to see comparisons between the optima yellow and red models. Instead, I find myself reading useless arguments from people trying to prove their points. The meaning behind the thread is gone, it requires moderation. I'm not going to respond to anyone who thinks I'm an idiot, I just wrote this to get the moderators attention. I won't be wasting time going on and on with some of you people. To the rest of you, I apologise, but someone had to bring this up.

Bottom left corner of the post box, next to the "thanks", is a little triangle with an exclamation point in it. That is the report link.
