that is freaking sweet! i'm about to upgrade my computer speakers in hopes of connecting to my tv if i get one in a few months. how much is this setup running you?

A lot more than I planned. Lets hope it's worth it.

Speakers 2x $10

Amps 2x $10 (he had a min. $20 order so I ordered 2)

3.5mm cables $5

Screws, etc $3

Wood, plexi, paint Free

So yeah... but whatever.

Well, the amp box shell got built today. Did some of the roundovers (except for the angle pieces) and cleaned it up a bit. Board and heatsink fit great. Now to find a way to get the plexi cut/cleaned up in a presentable fashion. Anyone ever cut plexiglass? I also need to find knobs.

Lol.... keyboard used to be covered in ladybug stickers for some reason and desk is often covered in ash.

I couldn't really flushmount as I don't have a router bit to use with a stencil nor have I ever made a stencil for custom cutouts.

I have considered this because of the extra amp, but I'm not really sure as far as pricing. Materials obviously, but I'd have to figure everything else out after this set is complete. I still don't really even know if they'll sound good, as them amp may not be powerful enough at 8 ohms.

Ultimately I still need to finish them to figure out if they're really worth the expense/time. I think if they do well, I'll begin another identical build/log and see how they progress. If they're as good, I'll sell them. But so far I'm just kind of making things up as I go along. Plus I'm not sure if my handiwork is up to "selling standards" yet.

yea those are nice, i would take a set if they had hump and decent range on them...

Not yet, since I don't know the pinout for the 3.5mm outputs. I'm waiting on a 12ft 3.5mm cable. Each speaker will have a 6ft run w/ male 3.5mm plug.

Anyone know of any (low cost) cnc/milling companies online? I'm second guessing my ability to make the plexiglass presentable.
