Might have just got screwed can anyone help ??????????

Wire the b!tch to .5
I'm just saying, don't wittingly suggest something that could ruin this guy's electrical. He has a single battery in the front, and he's wanting to use a mixture of 0 an 4 gauge? For an amp that could be nearing 2kW at a .5 ohm load? Come on now. You don't even know what kind of vehicle he has. His alternator could be anywhere from 65-140A. How could you possibly know?

2000 dodge ram 1500 ext cab. im thinking i can trim the power wire to fit in the aq ? the alt i have is around 117 amperes on average. plan on doing the big three been hearing alot of people running this amp at .5 ohms with success as long as they have a good electrical set up.

Wire the sub up in a series, then use a dmm to see what your actual impedance is at the end of the wire that you'll be putting on the amp terminals. You may be closer to one ohm than you think.

i think i need to ask how much power should i really try to run to the hdc312 ?? if it is closer to 1 ohm at the amp then i wouldnt have to try to sqeeze every watt out of the amp to get a good level?

The sub will be fine. Just give it clean power.

so if it was you av83 would you just run it parallel and just beef up the electical to help give it stronger constant power? i like this idea because i feel like the longevity of the set up will be greatly increased if i didnt try to put as much pressure on the amp as possible

dude i run my AB 500.1 at .5 and it takes it and smiles,DO NOT use the "bass boost" on the amp or the "loudness" on the head unit and set the gains correctly and you will be just fine.and of course the big 3

Good 1/0, a couple of nice batteries, big three, and great grounds. All that, and you should be golden.

my alpine head unit is prett boss and i dont like the loudness setting personally. im not really a big fan of bass boost on amps anyways the last one i ran didnt have that option for me to use but plenty of power and i think it sounded better than my other amp that had decent power and bass boost. the aq1200d came with a bass knob for gain that has built in clipping signal not sure how well it really works but should help. i also am getting a custom ported box around 2.5 net cuft and 34 htz tuned kerf port so i beleive that wil help as well? do i really need the extra watts to get good results from the hdc312?
