okay, i have a 98 mercury sable.. and i got the dash kit, and gonna be shoppin for a head unit soon.. prolly something like a pioneer 50watsx4 = 200 watts total..

i will be installed my 2400 watt amp and my 2 12" pioneers 1200 watts each..

only thing of my concern.. is my mids and hi's..

in my last car, i ran jbl 125watt each 6 1/2.. and it sounded like ***

i need good 5x7's that will focus only on mids and hi's.. but be able to handle, and not be over powered by the bass..

basically i'm into loud music, not jus bass...

so can u suggest good 5x7's! that can satisfy me...

Ok Ok first off, all you wattage you listed is MAX wattage, dont look at that, that is a no no. Look at RMS wattage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second, you HU will not do 50x4 and equal 200w, its 22x4 RMS!!

Third again with the MAX and RMS ratings, your subs are not 1200 and amp is not 2400!!

Forth, ditch the 5x7s and make a baffle to hold a 6.5 speaker

Fifth, get a nice 6.5 component set up front and amp them!!!!!!

Sixth, whats your budget?

I agree what is your budget cant tell ya what to get if i dont have a budget to work with. And are you going to be powering these please say yes lol.

well the only reason i didnt wanna power the inside speakers.. becuz thats just drains the battery more and over works my alternator..right?

so my subs 1200 watts of peak power, are 600 RMS? Right?

for the head unit i'm lookin at $130 or less...or around that range..

can somebody explain "rms wattage" to me..

and why its better then "watts of peak power?"

in 6.5 what kinda RMS wattage should I look for?

the lower the better, or the higher the better..

sorry and thanks in advance

for the 6.5's...i'm not sure... depends...throw me some ideas of what i should get... but honestly, im hope'n that like $150 would be enough..and if its not, tell me what i should get and hopefully i can find it on ebay...

DO NOT BUY ANY OF THOSE $30 SPEAKERS!!!!!!

RMS wattage is the true wattage that a speaker can handle or say an amp can put out, when looking at wattage you always look at the RMS wattage not the MAX or PEAK, that is a big no no!!

I dont know if your subs are 600w RMS, because idk what kind you have LOL, and as for looking for speakers with a high or low RMS wattage, it doesnt matter, what matters is the power you feed them, a speaker will always sound better amped than off a HU, why because an amp puts out more and cleaner power to the speaker!

Since you wont be amping your interior speakers, stick to a simple 6.5 coaxial, I will recommend the Pioneer REV series 6.5 coaxial, they sound very nice!!

As for a radio your open to many options, depends on the features your looking for and what appeals to your taste(looks wise) Ill suggest the Pioneer deh-3900, dont get me wrong choosing Alpine/Eclipse/Kenwood are all other good choices!!

HERE ARE THE SPEAKERS:

^Maybe ebay has them cheaper, shop around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sure actually adding an amp will make the speakers sound better

To figure out what power to give them, look at the speakers RMS wattage and find a matching amp

Look, those Pioneer speakers are 60 watts RMS and 4ohms, so you would want to find an amp that matches that wattage and ohm load, SO if you want to amp them find an amp that does say anywhere from 50-70w RMS x2 @ 4ohms
