pg elites vs oz audio cs's

gonna be buying new speakers soon

my amp pushes 284W x 2 @4

debating between

pg's elites

oz audio cs's

or maybe something focal, morel or cdt...if anyone has any suggestions

and i was just curious what ppl have to say about jbl gti's...

also for the pg's - woofersect.. is the only place i can find them for a good price - are they reliable?

How about some Rainbow Powerline CMX 265 Kicks? They'd love that kind of power. You should be able to score a set from a Rainbow dealer here on the forums for around $330 shipped, iirc.

yea i dont know why i never really considered rainbows

always hear excellent things about em

i looked at their website and see like 100 models - granted the one you recommended looks good but just curious if anyone else has any input on the different models? $330 is a good price - i would spend more but only if is *worth* it

and it says 150 Watts max - you really think it could handle all 284w?

I knew the rainbow comment was coming, even if its not an option, it somehow gets mentioned here.. Anyways the pg set is hard to beat, and the crossover is state of the art. That would be my pick, and they can handle tons of power.. I have 150 a side on them right now, and they laugh at the power

As for the gti's, I dislike that set. Strong midbass set, but not a very good sq set in my opinion. The midrange just sounds average at best.

Out of the two posted...

OZ's. Its actually supported and current. PG Elites are known to be unreliable and its not current to be warrantied. Plus the OZ midbass is much much better.

Are you kidding me, unreliable?? The very first batch of elites had a problem with the tweeters fluid, but that was several years ago. I have not heard of any problems period, and I know plenty of people with them. The elites have good midbass, and they handle tons of power with ease. Much more than most comps available can..

Of the two choices I'd definately go with the OZs. Even though something's wrong with mine or my amp (see thread). I've had the PGs as well, maybe I was underpowering them but they're definately not the same as the OZs.

PG are on sale for 300 bucks,looks like a dam good speaker but wants like 350 watts :/

The PG Elites are awesome!! Made by Morel and you know Morel make some of the best quality on the market. I have several buddies with these speakers and they all love them. Never heard of any issues with them at all.
