Hopefully this is in the right section...
So, I'm finally 3-way SEMI-active again, sort of. Tweet/mid are still passive. Here's the current setup:
CDA-9887 active HU
DLS UR36i tweet, mid-range, mid-bass
eD 11Ov.2 sub
Each speaker is active, except for the tweet and mid-range which are still passive. I have the 9887 doing 3-way active.
Highs -> tweet/mid(passive, locked @ 5.5kHz)
Mids -> mid-bass
Lows -> sub
Currently I have the x-over set at 500Hz for both the mid-bass LP and mid HP @ 18dB/octave slope. Sounds pretty good but I want something warm with vibrant color(not saturated), if that makes sense. How high should I go in terms of x-over point? Also, is it good to overlap? Basically, I'm just looking for a starting point for my listening tastes and I want the mid-bass to be more lively.
