messed up car system...

i have a JVC head unit. and a 93 honda civic ex. when i hook up the HU it will turn on (sometimes) and say "see you" then turn right back off.

but it only happens sometimes. other times it doesnt even turn on.

i know the HU works cause i tested it in another car.

but if i hook up the ground and power in my car it wont even turn on even it its hooked up directly to the battery. just turns on and then off sometimes.

all the fuses are good. i checked the wiring as best i can.

can anyone help me out here.

your power and ground seem ok, but what about your switch turn on? usually the RED wire on the aftermarket side of the harness, make sure that wire is hot when you turn your ignition on. get out that handy dandy voltmeter

only problems I've ever heard JVC decks to have is wiring not being big enough to accomodate their power needs. Make sure your power/ground wires are bigger than normal. at least 12ga, if you can 10ga. that should make the problem go away
