Mercury Capri Project Car

Its a 67. Is it a real gt, or just spiced up with gt goodies? Either way a k code for 200 is unheard of. Even basket cases generally get 3-5 grand depending on how much sheet metal they need.

Fitting a 408 in a 66 engine bay is no easy task, They are considerably wider than the 289/302 windsor engine. 65/66 engine bays are pretty small and the header/shock tower clearance will be an issue. If you need help, hop over to the vintage mustang forums. I am an active user over there.

As for engines, what about a 460? I recall trying to purchase a police interceptor that had a 460 in it to slap in my 81 LTD.
No point in adding all that weight when you can easily get that much power from a 306. Yeah a big block is cool but you can easily get big block numbers from a small block.

Theres no way in hell that the car is a real K code or the seller just needs to kill themselves.
The original owner was black. Car was stolen in 77 and stripped of motor/*****/bumpers, and left to rot for 33 years until i came along and picked it up. Even though its a K car its not worth that much without the K motor i dont think. I think im going to get rid of it shortly anyhow to fund the restoration on my 67 falcon sports coupe, though id like to keep both i cant afford 2 restorations right now. Ill be getting a 69 mach one soon possibly, nothing special just a 351 clevo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Oh yea, it also has 4 wheel disc brakes factory, i think i heard that was a big deal. Ive also been informed of the cramp issue with spark plugs, apparently ill have to use a cherry picker to do a tune up.

Lovin the 78-79 f-50(from what i can see of the front suspension) I have a 77

OP
Why not flip this thing for like $1500 or something and buy something more worth the time and effort. It seems you would already be in the green at $1000 or maybe even less so why not make some cash and invest it better. Just food for thought.
I will see what happens I like the challenge of this car.
