Mercury Capri Project Car

I almost ran the momo subs I got a set for Christmas but ended up selling them for I think a amp or head unit. I still have a set of momo components and I really did like them, only a woofer went in the set and missing a tweeter. The first set of db's I installed were in my neighbors gmc safari I was impressed with them. Have not yet heard the sr's.

I like what youre doing here, looks like a neat little car. How many miles are on it? My girlfriend probably would want something like that but all i could find for a good deal was an 84 LTD crown victoria. Wanted something i could work on myself and doesnt have too much electrical crap on it. Has a 351w/AOD ***** and 43k orig grandma miles. Im pretty much doing the same kinda stuff you are with yours, but i bought mine for 600 and it had sat for 10 years. Be ready to put a new fuel pump in soon btw, that stale gas really eats them up for some reason.

That thing is begging for a 408 Stroker and a zf 5 speed.

OP

Why not flip this thing for like $1500 or something and buy something more worth the time and effort. It seems you would already be in the green at $1000 or maybe even less so why not make some cash and invest it better. Just food for thought.

Does it still have the variable venturi carb? I had a 1981 LTD from 93 to 96 and Ford's variable venturi sas a POS to get adjusted properly. If I had kept the car any longer, I would have converted it to a 4 barrel carb.

Or a 408 with a t56. Talk about the ultimate sleeper
A T56 would proly be a hassle to get in that car, plus a ZF could handle the motor and be easier to find.

EDIT: Obviously not sayinga T56 couldnt handle the motor but if a ZF could do it cheaper then why shell out the extra cash.
