Mercury Capri Project Car

****, I was hoping for a fox body Capri. I was disappointed when I saw Ken and Barbie's dream car. I used to have an '86 fox body Capri. I have seen a few 90's models that weren't hideous, so I'll stay tuned and see what you can do with it.

Ya sorry but I will not let you down. This is going to turn into a nice fun car.

Today installed the head unit tomorrow going to start a sub box and saturday will install new speakers.

I was hoping for a 5.0 capri myself but that is a good looking little car and it was cheap. kudos to you. Wish I could find something like that just to get to work as my commute kills me on gas...and my foot...hard to stay out of a supercharged v6 if you got it...

looks good.

And 5.0 capri's are fun, especially when they are full built 331 powered race cars. This car is owned and raced by a technician at a shop that did some work to my stang. Extremely fast car.

Clean looking h/u install. I have a very similar kenwood unit (last years model), looks pretty much the same. They are great h/u's for the price.
Nice did you have any trouble with older ipods working? When I plug a 3rd gen into the usb it comes up like it is connected to the computer and the head unit says error. Plug it into my alpine no problems. PLug my 160gb into it and its fine.

Good news and bad news day:

Well got a package of free goodies today. 2 sets of polk audio db speakers.

I installed the rear set and will work on the front at a later time. "To bummed out about the bad news. If anyone is wondering why I installed rear speakers I did it for a few reasons.

1. I have rear seats.

2. It is a convertible so a little extra sound can not hurt when the top is down.

3. The rears will be faded out when the top is up.

Bad news:

I started the car to let it run some when I noticed a faint smell from the exhaust. I reved the engine and looked back. WHITE SMOKE, so I think I have a head gasket blown or just worn out from sitting. So when I replace that I will replace the water pump as well. Hope to get this done next week in time for the meet. Not sure if I am going to be able to. I am getting the repair manual for the car and going to see what it involves to replace both. If it is to much or I feel that I may harm my engine. I will talk to my gf's grandfather for help if he does not want to help than to a reapir shop it goes. I have confidence I can do it myself but have to take my time.

I did however go back out and paint the windshield wiper holders.

I do not want to start tearing apart the engine or anything until I have the repair book and the parts.

Tomorrow if I feel like it I will run the power wire and rca's.
