memphis, Alpine PDX, or JL v2 ?

OK, I have a 12" W6v2 I want to power. I have 3 amps I am looking at, and trying to get a feel of which would be the best choice.

Apline PDX 1.600 600w RMS - No bass control

JL Slash V2 500w RMS - bass control

Memphis 16-SC1.500 - 500W RMS - ??? bass control

Last, is it better to control bass from the headunit, or would a bass control on an amp be a better choice. I know ideally you shouldnt have to increase bass at all, but if you had to, to get the right sound.

any suggestions? Just wondering how each compares really. Ive had some crappy amps before, and had them replaced and heard a totally different sound. the JL amp seems to be the most expensive and sought after, and I dont know if thats because its the best? The Alpine is the cheapest, and apparently under rated, but no on board bass boost worries me, cause then I have to use the one built into my head unit. Memphis stuff seems to rock, and also be underpowered but its also expensive and this is one of their newer things ina compact design, dont know if that means they used cheaper components?

Thanks guys. Only reason I am looking at 500-600, is because the 12 W6 is rated at 500w RMS 1200 peak.

I have a 4 channel PDX 4.100 running my door speakers, and I like it, but its lighter then some amps I have owned. As with most things, the heavier it is, usually the better it is. Just worried that the 1.600 will not perform cause of its size and weight.

as far as the cadance, I like the company, had some door speakers in my cobalt, but dont like the whole refurb thing, plus cant find any other good info on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

and i love the old school plexi bottoms and for its size its heavy like you like it lmbo

if your scared go with the saz-1000d for 275 amazing amp and puts out 600rms at 2 ohm

I don't think the bass control on-amp is important.

You really shouldn't use it, but if you don't get the 'sound' you want, a change in enclosure type will make a much larger difference.

But if your into critiquing the small deficiencies, then a cheap EQ will do much more than the cheap 60hz or so bassboost most amps have.

Oh, and if your satisfied with the PDX powering your cabin speakers, I see no reason why you wouldn't get one for your sub.

I've heard the PDX class d full range amps sound terrible, but if your happy with it then thats all that matters.

The PDX class d powering your sub won't be a problem, as most distortion found in class d amps is lost at lower frequencies.
