Hello im trying to push 2 FI btl 18 inch subs in a blowtrought silverado. And im running low on funds and my options for amps were hifonics 2610 bxi rated at 2600 at 1 ohm and i will get 2 amps fr each sub run at 1 ohm each coil or to get two sundown sae-1200d for each btl sub. They sun aboiut the same price and i know sundown is mpre relaible but hifonics says it putts out 2600 at 1 ohm. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks. I also have a upgraded electrical system with 2 alternators and 0 gauge.

you are comparing 2400+rms per sub to 1200rms per sub............//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Well, no doubt the Hifonics will be stronger. If you are lookin at it from a straight spl perspective, get the Hifonics. But if you look at it from a sq/sql perspective, you should seriously consider the increase in quality that sae offers

please explain your reasoning, but if i am not mistaken, this was an incredibly retarded comment in terms of a substage, especially when he is talking about using a pair of 18" BTLs

whats sql?

well, i understand that some one running 2 BTls getting 1000's of watts likely doesnt give a shit about sq at all, but I just felt it should be stated that the sae is of much higher quality than the Brutus. And I know, for spl it doesnt matter at all

SQL is just some term that someone somewhere made up to imply a mixture of sound quality and sound pressure...I guess a best of both worlds thing. Some subs simply get loud, others mostly sound great. Some sound great while getting loud. Obviously, the OP likely doesnt care about sq

I see, womder if i'll ever find an "sql" set-up.

Well, in a sense SQL doesnt exist. You could maybe hit 145 and still have a great sq. But I really wonder if anything over say 150, would ever sound that great.
