Melted terminal on box??!!! (PICS)

For some reason I opened my trunk today to find that my positive terminal on my box was MELTED. The + speaker wire going to my amp is actually fused to it now. Its all black and charred too. About 1500ish i would say right now because im using my stock alternator

bad connection or the terminal cup is not rated for the load that is on it. maybe the wire just came loose and started to back out causing some arcing.

this is caused when the ground to the amp is not tightened up enough...thats what i read online...

he means the connection wasn't solid, so the current was arcing/jumping to make contact which gives off sparks and tends to melt shit...
