Meanest production HT sub ever?

Actually, in order to get the product on the site, I copied the images from another item. I don't have photoshop on my computer so me making new tiny images isn't going to happen, it's something Ben is working on.
FWIW, I haven't EVER changed the design of the A7-900 since I created it.
What CAD package are you guys using for this stuff?

So it more important to get wrong info up right away then to get the right info when its ready? At the very least it would have been a good idea to note the drawing was over another product utilizing the same internal bracing.
What are the drawings of? You have another extremely similar product, aparently?

Someone brought up a valid question... 66 inches of port area is pretty small for those sized drivers... what gives?
I didn't realize that you could tell the differences in the tiny images when I was copying them otherwise I would have gotten them created before uploading the specs.

They're from the A7-600/A7-700, but Ben is working on updated images for the 900 right now since it is quite different internally and with the slot port than the others.

As for port area, in the last 2 weeks of abusing the thing, there hasn't been any issue with port noise. Since the sub is sitting about 4' from the listening position, I'm pretty sure you'd here it if there was some.

If anything, in an Sd to port area comparison, 66 in² on the A7-900 is more port area than a 12" sub with a single 4" aeroport, and Vd to port area it's only slightly less than a 12" to an aeroport.

As for software, I use Sketchup for most of the box rendering as it's quick and easy as demonstrated in the last episode of "Our Audio Life."

When you click on the thumbnail of the image, it resizes to much larger. I assumed that was the intent when the page was designed, you cant make out any of the bracing its suppose to highlight without up-sizing the image. Its then that it becomes obvious we are looking at a totally different box. Not a good idea to highlight a technical aspect of a product by showing a techincal pic of a different product. If anything, just mention it verbally until a pic is ready. Otherwise it just looks confusing or flat out screwed up. Just a heads up.

Im really surprised the port area doesn't give problems. The box I'll soon be building uses almost that much port area, per driver, and Im running 15's. But I alike alot of port area I guess.

Lame, even JLs Dual 13w7 Gotham is more badass than that junk.

It looks very lame to me.

Its a dual 18" ported box, whats so special about that?

If it was really no expense spared cabinet design, why not use high end Birch ply and stain to customers specs etc, etc. Heck if you used birch you'd even cut down on the weight too.

For two grand I say HELL no.

We are talking about these ones, right:

They're even smaller on your computer before a resize? Wow.

No, we are talking about the pic of the internal bracing. I see it actually does mention its 'little brother' in the text, I guess we are to assume this drawing is of it instead.

Clearly a very different design with different internal bracing. Seems odd to tout this box's internal bracing, then show some other box as proof.

Is MSPaint beyond your technical knowledge? If so, I would never buy anything you designed.

Ahhh, I didn't realize there was a hypertext link in there when I was moving the features. That makes a lot more sense now.

As for using paint, I guess it would work on those ones. I was thinking the thumbnails were like the category ones on our site which have a white to light gray shading across them which I'm pretty sure paint doesn't have an easy way of doing.

If you do know how to make a gradually shaded icon in paint, sweet, but I stopped using paint a long time ago when I found better software.

Bracing is now linked to the real bracing.

forget 2 grand.... my ht sub consists of a 15" mag in a 4.5 cu ft sonotube @ 20hz... powered by 1000watts rms (butkicker btk1000) and it puts up better numbers inroom than ed claims with that beast... i get over 130 with ease (according to my rat shack meter) and thats for less than $1000....
