Maximum wattage before adding another alternator/battery

I know anything over 900 watts in a civic and everything stock and your dimming pretty good but in a RSX you can handle about 1500 lol thats about it.

its just a daily driver. i'll be running the big the on it so...you think that one kicker 1500.1 w/ two L5's and 650.1 for comps would be fine?

I don't think you understand. Some cars drain more current then others based on how much power stuff in the car needs to run on. If my cutlass can handle 1500RMS doesn't mean your ranger will handle that. You should be able to run up to 3k on a couple batteries and a good sized alt.

Some cars can handle up to 1500 RMS, others only 800.

You can't just pick a number, there's way to many factors.

I'd say though that running anywhere over 1000-1300 RMS on a stock battery and alt, will be around the limit for most cars before you get some nasty drops (if it doesn't already).

2000 RMS like your talking....without either another batt, or a HO alt...no way.

battery first. and a second battery before alt. i can draw 8k from two batteries and a stock alt with voltage lowest at 11.7 on music

check the specs on your alternator. if your car has less bells and whistles like power locks/windows/a-c/etc. you will have more headroom room with the stock alternator. most people will tell you to double up on batts from 800-up.

you can have the stock alt. upgraded but it usually costs about the same as a new one.

You should upgrade to two batts at 1242.6 watts, and to a third one at 1874.3 watts. Monitor your voltage and change your alt if your voltage dips more than 7.2% over a 3.9 second time period, averaged over 3.27 days.
