Maxima - Audio Build *N00bie*

and your solid 1100 looks pretty good. The 1500 is too much power for the brahma really... but there if i want to upgrade eh? Brahma suspension is really soft since its old so it bottoms out easily with that amount of power (1500@12v)

Ill second that. The brahma doesnt like too much power at all. Ive toasted tinsel leads using about 1100rms before. Ofcourse it was clipping, and being played loud as hell.

After a recone, the sub is now in a sealed 3.4 cube box. Sure I miss the ported output but its not exactly weak either.

wait someone talked u outta using a IDQ? Glad I dont know that member.
Well not really ...I wanted a 15" sub and the IDQ came in that, but I wanted to buy direct from the manufacturer. That's the one thing I couldn't find. LeX had me look at the Fi's also. Then I saw that Fi was all the craze around here, and yeah I made my decision on that.

Either way if I got the IDQ or Q ... one or the other would've been a good choice.

imagedynamicsstore.com or they sell on ebay now too. I've ran the IDQ's and IDmax and the FI Q, I'd take the IDQ and IDMax over the FI Q for the lows. If u just want more output then go for the FI Q.

i'd take the IDQ for SQ over just about anything but that's not the goal. FI Q definitely going to fill the car with a lot more output... stupid maximas just rattle to hell and need a lot of output for you to actually hear any bass haha

3.4??? or 2.4? 3.4 is huuuge.

3.4
Not 100% sure exactly, but its somewhere around there. Spare tirewell is fiberglassed.
your low end must be beyond overbearing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Is the tire well really that big? I thought it was around 2 cubes.

Yeah im sure im pushing it. I have the gains set right this time though, very little to no clipping at all. The 3.4 ish is after displacment. Hell its inverted, what displacment lol.

I smell a threadjack in process //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Nah, its not too bad at all. I usually keep the bass turned up about 40-50% and its quite nice. However I do turn it upto 90% or so when I have the right song for it. Thats when the lows really stand out.

Pretty good job for being a noob, lol!

Only thing I wouldnt do is fire the sub to the lid like you said you were. I think that will be even worse facing it back. I would face it in to the cabin and seal it off from trunk and you should be good to go.

Good luck and good job!

Good choice in products! I really like the Solid Audio amps, but apparently they went under. Sucks, because looking at the internals of that amp, they seem pretty high quality.

Hey if you want I could build you a nice box for that Q. Probably for less than the shop will do it for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
